Cherry Glaze

INGREDIENTS

3 qt. (3 lb) sugar, powdered, sifted
6 tbsp. (3 oz) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups water, boiling (variable)
2 tbsp. cherry, imitation flavoring

INSTRUCTIONS

Combine powdered sugar, butter or margarine, salt, boiling water, and cherry flavoring; mix until smooth. Spread over baked sweet rolls or coffee cakes. Coat or dip fried doughnuts in glaze.

NOTE: This glaze may be used for a variety of sweet dough products.
