INGREDIENTS
3 qt. (3 lb) sugar, powdered, sifted
6 tbsp. (3 oz) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup water, boiling (variable)
6 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tsp lemon rind, grated (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine powdered sugar, butter or margarine, salt, boiling water, lemon juice and lemon rind (optional)(2 lemons A.P. will yield juice and rind.); mix until smooth. Spread over baked sweet rolls or coffee cakes. Coat or dip fried doughnuts in glaze.
NOTE: This glaze may be used for a variety of sweet dough products.
