INGREDIENTS
1 3/4 cups (8 oz) milk, nonfat, dry
1 1/2 qt. water, warm
6 3/4 cups (3 lb) sugar, granulated
3 cups (12 oz) cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups water, cold
1 1/4 cups (10 oz) butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 qt. (1 lb) nuts, unsalted, chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
Reconstitute milk and warm water. Set aside. Mix sugar, cocoa, and salt with 2 cups cold water to form a paste. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; cool slightly. Add milk stirring constantly. Bring to a boil; cook for 3 minutes. Remove from heat immediately. Add butter or margarine and vanilla; stir. Serve warm or at room temperature. Just before serving add chopped nuts to sauce; mix well.
NOTE: 1. Sauce may be served over ice cream, puddings, or plain cake squares.
